Russia s Maxim Burov and Australia s Laura Peel have won the men s and women s aerials gold medals at the 2021 International Ski Federation (FIS) Freestyle Ski World Championships in Almaty in Kazakhstan.
In the men s competition, reigning world champion Burov continued his strong 2020-2021 season by successfully defending his title with a score of 135.00 points.
Burov, competing under the flag of the Russian Ski Federation following the sanctions imposed on his country by the World Anti-Doping Agency, has won five of the six aerials World Cup events this season, with the season s title in the bag with one event to go.
