President obama set to host the nations governors today at the white house, this morning state leaders from both parties will meet with he and the Vice President , the president expected to address bipartisan issues from guns to marijuana to the Affordable Care act. The National Governors association, this is an annual thing, they come to washington for weekend meetings culminating in this morning meeting at the white house in the state dining room. Theres plenty to talk about in terms of policy. Minimum wage, the president wants to push the federal minimum wage to 10. 10 from the 7. 25 now. A lot of states have beaten him to the punch, but the president wants to raise it. The republican governors are resisting that initial active from the white house from washington, as well, and its unlikely to go anywhere in congress for the foreseeable future. Rep

And, first things first, you think here michigan, you think the birth place of unions and you think about all these people who are very frustrated with this, everything i read, it seems to be pretty much a done deal, this right to work legislation, that the governor has indicated he would sign. These are the folks who helped elect the president not too long ago. Should the president step in and go to bat for them . Well, you know, the unions have been enormously supportive of the president as you point out. The resilience and development of our robust relations with taiwan over the past 35 years have been greatly fostered by the framework that congress established in the tra. The u. S. Taiwan relationship is grounded in history, shared values and our common commitment to democracy and human rights. Maintaining and deepening our strong relations with taiwan is an important part of the u. S. Rebalance to the asiapacific region. Through the American Institute in taiwan, we were close with taiwan authorities on a wide range of issues. Insecurity, maintenance of peace across the Taiwan Strait is crucial to stability and prosperity. The Obama Administration has notified congress of over 12 billion worth of arms sales to taiwan.
