Some county officials around New York are urging Governor Cuomo to give them more guidance on his decision to extend vaccine eligibility, after Cuomo announced that restaurant workers and even Uber drivers could be added to the list of people who can get the shot.
NEW YORK - Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced that 35 new community-based pop-up COVID-19 vaccination sites will be coming online this week at churches, community centers, public housing complexes, and cultural centers.
The sites are expected to vaccinate over 25,000 people throughout the week, with more sites coming online every week.

Covid Vaccination Sites Opening in Binghamton and Endicott
Two small Covid-19 vaccination sites are being added to a pair of large-scale operations in Broome County.
One of the pop-up facilities went into operation Wednesday at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Recreation Center at 144 Hawley Street in downtown Binghamton.
The other new site at St. Ambrose School at 202 Garfield Avenue in Endicott is scheduled to open on Friday.
The locations are being operated as part of a partnership between the state and Broome County.
A man who said he was designated as an essential worker late Wednesday afternoon emerged from the Hawley Street site and said he had received a vaccination. He indicated the process went smoothly.

ALBANY New York announced Wednesday it is opening 35 community-based pop-up vaccination sites this week at churches, community centers, public housing complexes and cultural centers.
The goal is to vaccinate more than 25,000 people through the week and add more sites weekly to reach as many communities as possible to get vaccines in as many arms as possible.
New York last month started a few pop-up sites, and they have provided nearly 9,000 first COVID-19 doses. Those sites will reopen to give out second doses in the coming weeks.
The move comes as more vaccines are headed to the state, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced, thanks to the federal government.
