A husband whose wife stabbed him 22 times over suspicions he was having an affair has told a court he still loves her and has forgiven her .
Joanne Singleton, 49, attacked Kevin Singleton at their home in Althorpe, near Scunthorpe, in September 2020.
Despite the attack, Mr Singleton told Hull Crown Court: I can t forget that day but on balance I can forgive her .
Mrs Singleton, from Althorpe, was jailed for six years and eight months after admitting wounding with intent.
The court heard Mrs Singleton, who was originally charged with attempted murder, attacked her husband of 25 years in the early hours of 7 September as she thought he had been cheating on her.

A man who had been fighting for his life has forgiven his wife after she stabbed him 22 times in a jealous rage.
A jealous mother-of-three has been jailed for more than eight years for nearly killing her husband by stabbing him 22 times when she thought he was having an affair.
Despite Joanne Singleton, 49, stabbing husband Kevin in September last year, he told Hull Crown Court today that he had forgiven her and still loves his wife.
Singleton, of Derrythorpe Road, Althorpe, Lincolnshire, approached her daughter raising concerns that her husband was seeing someone else - which he had previously denied.
She later sent texts saying she would not be taken for a mug and it was pay day.
The next morning, she attacked her husband of 25 years in their kitchen, stabbing him 22 times.
