United Way, ACAF grant supports Allegany County vaccination efforts
The ACUW and ACAF awarded a $1,500 shared grant to the Allegany County Department of Health
From News Reports
One year ago, the Allegany County Area Foundation and Allegany County United Way created Community Relief Funds (CRF) and a shared grant application and review process to streamline support for activities that assist county residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This effort has enjoyed good public support and worked well, providing funds efficiently to many county agencies and organizations, including the YMCA, Cuba Cultural Center, all county public libraries, and the Salvation Army.
Earlier this month the ACUW and ACAF awarded their most recent shared grant $1,500 to the Allegany County Department of Health. These funds will be used for the purchase of PPE and related items needed for COVID vaccination clinics.
