A business-led initiative is aiding the city’s less fortunate while also generating support for downtown merchants, barkeeps and restaurateurs.
“The issue we have downtown happens everywhere and is a symptom of a greater problem,” said Kyle Marcus, owner of the Alibi Room on Durham Street. “I’m just trying to bring some humanity and community effort to this, so we devised a program that incentivizes activism from our members, as well as makes it easy for someone to help.”
