President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep condolences and sympathy over the demise of Hajiya Mairo Sa’idu Daura, wife of the Emir’s late older brother and a respected lady who worked for the welfare of the community.
In a condolence statement issued yesterday, President Buhari described the demise of Hajiya Mairo an irreparable loss.
The President in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu in Abuja said, “I remember with absolute admiration, the motherly role played by the deceased throughout the Daura community and beyond. I am deeply shocked to learn of her sad demise.
The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has arrived his hometown, Daura on a four-day official visit.
The President was welcomed on arrival at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Katsina by the Governor, Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, the Deputy Governor, among others.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, in a statement said, the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk, led District Heads and traditional title holders to receive the President at the Helipad.
The statement in part reads, “In the course of his stay in Daura, he is expected to, among other engagements, participate in the All Progressives Party, APC membership registration and revalidation exercise”.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday evening arrived Daura, his hometown, at the start of a four-day official visit to Katsina State.
The president, according to a release on Friday evening by his media assistant, Garba Shehu, was welcomed on arrival at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Katsina by Governor Aminu Bello Masari, the Deputy Governor, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly and the state Chief Judge.
In Daura, the Emir, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk, led district heads and traditional title holders to receive the president at the helipad.

The presidential aide said the President is expected to, among other engagements, participate in the All Progressives Party (APC) membership registration and revalidation exercise in the course of his stay in Daura.
He said President Buhari considered the exercise as a very important one for the nation’s democracy and its yearning for good leadership as a requirement of the process of nation building.
He recalled that President Buhari had in a broadcast last week urged “all good people,” not only to speak but to rise up and “get involved in the task of improving their society,” adding that “for most citizens, their greatest weapon is their vote. Register now for your Party and register when the time comes for elections.”
