At heyday, a recently-opened Evanston vintage shop, residents can purchase eclectic second-hand clothing, accessories and furniture. The vintage collective opened on March 27 and operates from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Racks of clothing, ranging from femme fashion to classic Northwestern merchandise adorn the Davis Street location. Owner Shayne Kelly is a vintage collective.
About 50 people marched from The Rock to the Provost’s Office on Oct. 12, 2021 as Northwestern’s library workers prepared to deliver a list of demands to administrators. Community members, including advocates involved in Northwestern University Graduate Workers and Students Organizing for Labor Rights, accompanied the library workers in support. The workers climbed the stairs.
The Faculty Senate leadership announced this fall a plan to eliminate the legislative powers of the Faculty Assembly. The proposed changes to the Faculty Assembly bylaws would cancel the only channel through which faculty can directly govern the University. We urge voters to reject the concentration of the faculty’s power solely in the Faculty Senate. .
