A vigil last night held for 22-year old Alejandro Barajas, who was killed the night before by gunfire at 174th and Southeast Stark Street, was itself the target of a drive-by shooting that left seven people wounded.
Seven shot during vigil for deadly shooting
GRESHAM, Oregon (KPTV) More than half a dozen people were shot in Gresham late Monday night, at the same location a person was found dead the day before.
Officers responded to a reported shooting at Southeast 174th Avenue and Southeast Stark Street around 11:30 p.m.
At the scene, police found seven people had been shot.
The victims had been attending a vigil for a person who died at the same intersection about 24 hours earlier.
Police told FOX 12 that the vigil shooting that was directly related to the shooting Sunday night, in which a man, identified as 22-year-old Alejandro Barajas, was killed.
A group of mourners gathered at a vigil for a murder victim in Oregon was met with gunfire Monday night at the same intersection where the man was killed a day earlier, authorities said.
There was a shooting Monday night at a vigil in Gresham.
People had gathered near 174th and Stark Street for a memorial to 22-year-old Alejandro Barajas, who was killed Sunday in a shooting.
A dark SUV drove past the scene and there was an exchange of gunfire between people in the SUV and the crowd.
Seven people in the crowd were injured. They re all expected to survive.
The SUV left the scene and there hasn t been any arrests.
