Nashua aldermen this week forcefully rejected a 9:30 p.m. curfew on bars, restaurants and nightclubs that the Nashua Board of Health had recommended to curb the spread of COVID-19.
âI think that we are punishing too many businesses and individuals that have already suffered enough,â said Alderman Richard Dowd.
Closing select businesses a few hours early will not make a significant difference in anti-COVID efforts, and police and public health officials do not have the time to enforce a curfew, Dowd said.
The proposal was rejected by a vote of 11-4 and then tabled, meaning the issue could be brought up again later.
