SitNews: New 2020 Alaska Scorecard Released

Tuesday PM (SitNews) Anchorage, Alaska - The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS), in partnership with the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority (Trust), announces the release of the  2020 Scorecard: Key Issues Impacting Alaska Mental Health Trust Beneficiaries. This scorecard aligns with  The 2020 Alaska Scorecard has been revised to include both new indicators and new narratives that are consistent with goals set forth in  Strengthening the System that define a health care system that provides a full continuum of prevention, treatment and support services to Trust beneficiaries in Alaska. The new scorecard builds on the historic practice of updating an annual scorecard examining health outcomes that began in 2008 following the publication of the previous version of the Comprehensive Plan, and adds new indicators including those related to early childhood intervention, long term services, and the social determinants of health.

Alaska receives its first COVID-19 vaccine shipments; Ketchikan EOC is hosting a Covid-19 Vaccine Discussion   Tuesday PM (SitNews) Anchorage, Alaska - Alaska received its first shipment of COVID-19 vaccine last night via UPS plane. Delivery and transport of the vaccine to health care facilities across Alaska will be happening today through Wednesday, leading to the first vaccinations of Alaskans this week.  “The COVID-19 vaccine is going to help Alaskans put the worst behind us,” said Governor Mike Dunleavy. “We will begin the process of finally getting the upper hand of this pandemic and getting our lives back to normal.” “Alaska’s Vaccine Task Force has been preparing for many months to receive these first shipments and to guarantee safe vaccine handling according to the vaccine’s unique requirements,” said Tessa Walker Linderman, co-lead of Alaska’s Vaccine Task Force. “The task force, led by DHSS and the Alaska Native Tribal Health
