Akram Jadawi has been the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s director general of international cooperation since May 2020. He was appointed co-chair of the Saudi delegation at the Digital Economy Task Force in G20 Italia and was director general of G20 affairs at the National Digital Transformation Unit between November 2019 and August 2020.

The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development maintains intensive efforts to search for new sectors that provide job opportunities and reduce the unemployment rate.
On Thursday, the ministry announced its decision to localize the professions of law and education and uncovered an ongoing study to improve the wages of security and safety guards.
Dr. Akram Jadawi, a public policy expert, told Asharq Al-Awsat that the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development was working on some promising decisions that contribute to reducing unemployment and raising the efficiency of the Saudi labor market.

The remote work system implemented by Saudi Arabia when the outbreak of the Covid-19 was first reported has succeeded in achieving productive targets during the first wave of the virus and contributed to generating jobs and work opportunities in small cities and governorates, experts told Asharq Al-Awsat.
This comes as the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has recently called on workers in the public and private sectors to adhere to precautionary and preventive measures, and to abide by health instructions and physical distancing at workplaces, in addition to resorting to remote work as much as possible, with the importance of applying a flexible working-hour policy.

The newly launched Riyadh Strategy is on track to generate mega projects, create job opportunities and expand the Saudi capital’s economic horizons, experts confirmed, stressing that this will allow for doubling the population within a decade.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has said “global economies are based on cities, not countries because cities are the main cornerstone of development.”
Speaking at the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, the Crown Prince revealed that the Saudi capital constitutes 50% of the Kingdom’s non-oil economy.
