The move comes after Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) wrote an open letter to Amazon’s CEO where it demanded language support for people living in Maharashtra. In the letter, the party also said that it will agitate against Amazon given that the company does not include the language support for the app as well as their website for customers in the state.

On November 25, these eight men, along with others, created ruckus in an Amazon warehouse located in the Kondhwa area of the city, as part of their protest over the unavailability of Marathi language as an option on its app and website. According to the police, the accused damaged the property of the warehouse, including shattering window panes. They also raised slogans of No Marathi - No Amazon and threatened the staff.
