Jeweller arrested for robbing own shop in Clifton

Police recovered jwellery from a shop in Saddar.
In a major development in one of the biggest robberies of the year, police arrested the co-owner of a jewellery shop for planning the robbery himself to pay off his debts.
A jewellery shop located in the Teen Talwar area in Clifton was robbed a couple of days ago. The co-owner, Asid, claimed that robbers used cutters to enter the shop and took away 10 to 12 kilogrammes of gold.
Following the incident, police investigators reached the shop to collect evidence and registered a case. Later, during the initial course of investigations, they found Asif doing suspicious activities hours before the incident as he was seen disconnecting CCTV cameras and taking off cloth from gold items in the shop in footage.

Bail granted to female suspect in TikTokers murder case

A sessions court on Thursday granted bail to a suspect allegedly involved in the murder of four TikTokers who were targeted in a drive-by shooting in the Garden area in February.
The victims, Muskan Sheikh, Amir Khan, Rehan Shah and Saddam Hussain, were killed after unidentified armed men opened fire on their car near the Anklesaria Hospital in the wee hours on February 1.
The additional district and sessions judge South approved the bail-after-arrest application moved by the interned suspect, Sawera, and ordered her to submit a surety of Rs200,000 to secure her release. She was taken into custody after clues based on the call data record (CDR) and location pointed towards her involvement in the case, South DIG Javed Akbar Riaz had told The News after her arrest.

A pedestrian and a Chinese official travelling in a Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) van were injured after two unidentified men, who were on a motorcycle, opened fire on the vehicle in Lyari on Tuesday.
While the pedestrian, 45-year-old Khalid, sustained gunshot wounds in his arm and abdomen, the Chinese official, 26-year-old Jason Yahu, was injured by shattered glass that splintered as a result of the firing. Two others, the driver and a translator, inside the SSWMB van remained unhurt.
