Despite a seemingly unstable job market, faculty says students have nothing to fear

Some students feel that their job opportunities have been threatened, but the University of Louisiana at Lafayette staff and administration say not to worry.  With COVID-19 still in existence and unemployment rates still high, college students are rightfully worried about jobs after graduation.  On Tuesday, Jan. 19, The Vermilion posted a Twitter poll asking students if they were confident they would find a job when they graduated. Of the 25 respondents, 36% said yes and 64% said no. According to UL Lafayette graduate and former graphic design major, Brie Cushall, she was not as worried about jobs before the pandemic hit, but since graduating in spring 2020, she has yet to find a job in her field.
