President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered security and intelligence agencies to hasten their moves to rescue the 200 children kidnapped from an Islamic school in Niger State.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, made this known on Monday in a statement titled, ‘Expedite action towards release of school children, President Buhari urges law enforcement officials.’
He said President Buhari received a briefing on the latest incident of school kidnapping and condemned it.

Niger is a state in the Middle Belt region of Nigeria and the largest state in the country.
The Niger State Government has distributed the second trench of relief material which includes food and non-food items to the Internally Displaced Person (IDPs) from the Munya Local Government Area of the State.
The IDPs are taking refuge at the premises of the Model Primary School in the Gwada community of Shiroro Local Government Area of the state’s IDPs Camp.
Delivering the relief items in Minna, the state capital to the representatives of about 30 communities that made up the IDPs from Munya LGA was the Director-General, Niger State Emergency Management Agency,( NSEMA) Ahmed Inga.

He spoke when the chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum under the leadership of Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state and Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa state paid sympathy and condolence visit to the state.
Governor Matawalle warned armed bandits in the state to repent or change base as he has drawn a new roadmap in his approach to handling the issue of security challenges facing the state.
He said his recent suspension of a district head in Shinkafi emirate for conniving with bandits was just a tip of the iceberg adding that in the next four days, he will overwhelm all those making life unbearable to innocent citizens in the state.
