Doha: To celebrate the holy month of Ramadan, when the Qur’an was revealed, and as part of the Doha Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021 celebration, Qatar National Library (QNL) hosted “Writing the Qur’anic Text Through the Centuries,” which took participants on a journey through Qur’anic history.
The event shed light on the calligraphy used in writing the Qur’an, the artistic elements of the book, and the general traditions of writing and producing Qurans.
During the first part of the seminar, Ibrahim bin Yousef Al Fakhro, a Qatari researcher and art collector particularly interested in Qur’anic manuscripts, highlighted the scripts, illumination and other book arts used in the manuscripts of the Qur’an. Kuwait City: The Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) announced that they detected bird flu in some farms across Kuwait.
A specialized team at the PAAAFR visited the two farms, in Wafra and Abdly, and culled thousands of poultry that were infected with the virus.
The PAAFR pointed out that the situation is under control and that there is no danger or need to panic.
The Director of Infection Prevention Department at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ahmed AL Mutawa, stated that the Ministry of Health is coordinating with the PAAAFR to monitor the case locally and internationally, following up in chance that cases are recorded in other countries in the world.
