Panabo market hotspot for local transmission

SunStar Photo from Panabo City CIO + December 14, 2020 THE Panabo City Health Office reported that 117 individuals tested positive for Sars-Cov-2, the virus causing Covid-19, from the Aggressive Community Testing (ACT) of the Department of Health. This was out of the 1,008 persons under monitoring (PUM) testing in the city. Out of the number of positive cases, 51 had exposure or travel history to the Premium Market (Wet Market). Because of this, the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) headed by Governor Edwin I. Jubahib recommended the temporary suspension of the market’s operation, tagging it as a “hotspot for local transmission.” City Mayor and Economic Enterprise Manager Jose E. Relampagos, together with the Panabo IATF, requested not to suspend the market’s operation as it is the primary source of people’s basic and essential needs.
