Black-owned newspapers and funeral programs played a major role in preserving Black history. A local library is making it easier to access that history by putting it on the Internet.
Do you want to document your African American family’s story, but don’t know how to start? This workshop for beginners presented by Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc., Metro Atlanta Chapter will familiarize participants with African American Genealogy research tools and practices. Six sessions will be offered with a Q&A session at the end. Additionally, participants will complete family group sheets and maternal/paternal pedigree charts. Lunch provided afterwards.
