Ethiopia, AfDB Sign $31 Mn Grant to Help End Stunting and Malnutrition
Ethiopia s Ministry of Finance has signed a grant agreement worth over $31 million with the African Development Bank (AfDB) aimed at supporting the efforts to end child stunting and malnutrition in Ethiopia.
Signing the agreement were Yasmin Wohabrebbi, Ethiopia s State Minister of Finance, and Abdu B. Kamara, AfDB s Deputy Director-General for East Africa Regional Development and Business Delivery Office.
The agreement, under the Seqota Declaration which aims to end stunting in children, will be implemented in Amhara and Tigray regions, it was learned.
On the occasion, Ethiopia s State Minister of Finance Ms. Yasmin pointed out the grant will help strengthen efforts to eradicate the underlying causes of chronic under-nutrition and ending stunting among children.
