Shocking Disparities Galvanize Maryland’s Child Advocacy Community; Advocates for Children and Youth Host Summit to Focus on Advancing Equity
With COVID-19 highlighting or exacerbating disparities, there are organizations and community members working to advance equity for all young people with bold, innovative solutions. This virtual Summit, featuring Chef Jeff Henderson award-winning chef and founder of the Chef Jeff Project, gives attendees a view into this transformational work through storytelling, research and advocacy approaches. Baltimore, MD, May 10, 2021 (PR.com) Maryland ranks 43rd for children living in poverty in which nearly 160,000 young people live in under-resourced families. Black youth arrest rates are 3 times higher than White youth. Black infant mortality is 3 times higher than with White babies.
