administration and republicans who right now want to sort of cast out in a cbo. this is the one they point to. when obamacare was enacted back in 2010, the estimate from the congressional budget office, they said hey, 21 million people by the end of 2016. that was their estimate, would be on they call those individual insurance exchanges. they d be buying health care on their own, through obamacare essentially. they said 21 million, well look what it actually ended up being. about half of that. so that is the estimate you hear from republicans. you re certainly hearing from the administration when they say hey listen this is something we ve got to take with a grain of salt when these numbers come out on this new republican plan. you sigh the estimate there in terms of the number of people who would gain coverage. o would take advanta of this. people who weren t insured, who would become insured again. a little bit more over rosy estimate when obamacare was enacted seven years ago than
