No more blame game in public service, says Senzo Mchunu

Johannesburg - Public Service and Administration Minister Senzo Mchunu said gone are the days of the blame game between members of the executive and heads of departments over unlawful and “corrupt” directives.
Mchunu said anything that hindered the efficient performance and ultimate delivery of services to the people should be dealt with urgency.
He made the comments when his department briefed the public service and administration portfolio committee on two bills that seek to close gaps in public service–related legislations.
Mchunu told MPs that they were lacking behind in putting the public service where it should be.
Cosatu president Zingiswa Losi has reiterated that no Eskom worker must be retrenched.
This comes ahead of a fresh round of wage negotiations at the power utility, which is heavily indebted.
Losi also slammed government for an unholy proposal to freeze public sector wages.
Labour federation Cosatu took the opportunity on 1 May to reiterate its position that no worker at battered state-owned power utility Eskom should be retrenched.
