Actor, Olanrewaju James, aka Baba Ijesha, has been a hot topic of discussion on social media and offline since he was arrested for allegedly molesting a minor. Because of his celebrity status, the news caught like wild fire and has been ‘trending’ for weeks. But, some have also expressed worry that the actor’s celebrity status could affect the case and help him walk free.
However, an entertainment and intellectual property lawyer, Femi Njoku, has said that Ijesha’s celebrity status would have no bearing on the case.
He told
Sunday Scoop, “The case is a very serious one. Bail cannot just be given to anybody. There are certain grounds for bail. If he asks the court for bail based on those grounds, then they can grant it to him. But if the court feels he may escape or try to beat the law, they may decide to hold him down.

Actor and producer, Yomi Fabiyi, has stated that the 14-year-old girl, who was allegedly sexually assaulted by actor, Lanre Omiyinka, popularly called Baba Ijesha, had sex with another man who is also close to Princess Adekola Adekanya.
Fabiyi explained that the man had been arrested, and that the teenager had admitted that she had sex, but not with Baba Ijesha at any time.

Popular comedian and Instagram sensation, Abimbola Olasunbo popularly known as Sir Koro has alleged that Comedienne Princess and Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo deliberately set up embattled Yoruba actor, Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha.
The police had in April arrested Baba Ijesha for sexually harassing a 14-year-old girl.
Announcing his arrest in a statement, Lagos police spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi alleged that the actor had been sexually assaulting the teenager since she was seven.
