patients it comes out of harvard. very well done study by a small group. basically, they told them, you re going to get a placebo. but they did add in, they said, by the way, this medication is going to engage a mind over matter thing. there s self-healing involved. so they did give them the expectation something was going to work. 60% showed a positive effect. they had a condition called irritable bowel syndrome. clearly, the placebo was playing a role in reducing stress. a previous study in 2008 showed 50% of us doctors in america lie to our patients and be give them placebos anyway, which was shocking. so i love this study because it says we should be telling them here, sir, is a la see doe. gregg: does it suggest to you, therefore, that a lot of the illnesses from which people suffer, physical manifestations that are quite real are actually psychosomatically induced? yes.
