Jack Reed vows to get defense budget done despite delays from the White House

Jack Reed vows to get defense budget done despite delays from the White House Jamie McIntyre BUDGET CRUNCH, ‘HARD CHOICES’: Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Jack Reed, a Rhode Island Democrat, says he and the committee’s top Republican, Sen. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, are hoping to finish work on the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act before the next fiscal year starts, despite a late start forced by the late budget submission by the White House. “Both Sen. Inhofe and I are determined to get our bill to the floor and then get the conference done and get a bill to the president s desk,” Reed said yesterday at an event sponsored by the Reagan Institute. “It s going to be difficult. We re going to have to make some hard choices, but our intention is to get the bill done. And to do so in a way that enhances our security.”

(Eric Kayne for Yahoo News) WASHINGTON Just days before Christmas last year, Roger Carstens, a former Green Beret turned diplomat, was thousands of miles away from home. He had flown to Saudi Arabia in a last-ditch attempt to attend the trial of two U.S. citizens, but he also hoped to meet Dr. Walid Fitaihi, a U.S.-educated physician who moonlighted as a motivational speaker on TV.

Former Acting SecDef Blames Trump For Riot, Blames Self For NOTHING

Liz DyeMarch 12, 2021 01:20 PM Screenshot via Vice on Showtime Last night, Vice on Showtime aired an interview with former acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller about the Capitol Riot in which he directly blamed his former boss for the attack. Would anybody have marched on the Capitol, and tried to overrun the Capitol, without the president s speech? Miller told Vice s Seb Walker. I think it s pretty much definitive that wouldn t have happened. Which is YEAH, NO SHIT and also HOLY SHIT, because he s actually saying the true part out loud. And in a church, set to creepy woo music, for some reason.
