Amid heavy rains lashing parts of Kerala in the past few weeks and more predicted in the next four days, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday asked the people to be vigilant.
IMD has warned of heavy rains in the state for the next five days. Parts of Kerala are experiencing landslides and waterlogging as the water levels in rivers are rising in several places. Authorities have been instructed to stay on alert.
The India Meteorological Department or IMD, which had put out an orange alert (heavy to very heavy rain) for 11 districts of Kerala withdrew it and changed it to yellow predicting 'moderate rain' in these areas during the day.
