The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Nasarawa State Police Command, headed by CSP Anietie Eyoh, has arrested two suspects, Mohammed Abdullahi and Abubakar Nuhu, for allegedly vandalising railway slippers and attempting to bribe officers of the unit with the sum of N160,000.
In recent times, railway tracks and slippers have been vandalised in many parts of Nasarawa State, which made the police to launch a manhunt for those responsible.
One of the suspects explained that he was a trader dealing in food items and was contracted by his boss to accompany him to buy rail slippers from one Mr Godwin, who allegedly vandalised the items in Agyaragu Tofa, Lafia Local Government Area, and Angwan Alago in the Kadarko District, Keana Local Government Area of the state.
The Nasarawa police command says it has arrested an aide to Abdullahi Sule, governor of Nasarawa; a Chinese national, and some security agents for their alleged involvement in vandalising rail tracks.

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, on Infrastructure, Yusuf Abubakar Musa, has been arrested by the state Police Command for allegedly vandalising Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) facilities.
Others arrested include two police officers and one operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), among others.
The state Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, yesterday paraded the arrested Special Adviser alongside 16 other suspected vandals at the state command headquarters in Lafia.
This was even as the police command equally paraded eight suspected armed robbers, 37 kidnapers, and recovered five live ammunition, 12 motorcycles, three vehicles and N760,000 from the suspects during the operations.

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Nasarawa State on Infrastructure, Yusuf Musa, has been arrested for his alleged role in the vandalism of railway tracks.
This was announced by the Nasarawa State police commissioner, Bola Longe, while parading Mr Musa and other suspects at the Force Headquarters in Lafia on Thursday.

PREMIUM TIMES, said the suspects, including police officers, were nabbed following the intelligence information received by the command.
According to him, the suspects have “turned the Nigerian railway tracks that traverse some major cities and villages in Nasarawa State en route to Benue state to gold mines where they vandalise and cart away rail tracks.”
