Aberdour homes approved after reporter overturns council decision

MORE THAN 100 new homes are set to be built in Aberdour after a Scottish Government reporter overturned a decision to refuse planning permission. The owners of Hillside School want to build 125 new homes which will provide funds to relocate their existing facility into a modern, purpose-built school. The proposals, which attracted 352 objections, were turned down by Fife Council on the grounds that the developers had not provided enough information. But a subsequent appeal has now been successful. The decision comes despite concerns from Fife Council and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) that the development would create more of a flooding risk after the village was hit badly by flooding in August.
