Coldwater to purchase two blighted homes at tax sale
The Daily Reporter
Dan Corwin objected to the city of Coldwater spending $9,511 to purchase two dilapidated properties at a tax foreclosure sale, set for Aug. 19.
“Leave them or developers and contractors to flip, Corwin said. I am disturbed at the city buying them before the public has a chance.
Corwin said the houses could be fixed easily for low-income families.
City Manager Keith Baker recommended the purchase of 27 Green St. and 97 Abbott Ave. The council approved his recommendation.
“Green Street has a failed roof. It’s in tough shape,” Baker said.
