A Newark Police officer suffered non-life threatening injuries after crashing his vehicle during an investigation in the city’s South Ward Sunday.
It happened around 2:10 p.m. near 180 Shephard Avenue.
Police crashed an undercover vehicle into the suspect's car in an apparent attempt to box the vehicle in.
The officer was rushed to the hospital in a patrol vehicle suffering a broken jaw, according to reports.
Police arrested the suspect, who was the subject of the investigation.
