BOGO sale on flights from Barbados to New York File photo Caribbean Airlines is celebrating the launch of a new service between Barbados and New York with a buy one, get one 50 per cent off promotion. The new service, which CAL says is subject to regulatory approvals, is expected to begin on April 1. In a release, CAL CEO Garvin Medera said the service would improve connectivity and expand the airline s network. “This is a significant milestone for Caribbean Airlines, and reiterates our commitment to giving our customers options and access to regional and international destinations, Madera said. The non-stop service between BGI and JFK will operate one-way on Thursdays out of Barbados and Saturdays out of New York.

In a press release, the International Council of Airports of Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC), the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Organization of Civil Service Providers of Air Navigation (CANSO), said the measures threaten the economic recovery of the sector. The associations highlighted the re-imposition of quarantines and test requirements, as well as new bans on flights to certain destinations.

Young: Flights bringing farm workers home from Canada File photo NATIONAL Security Minister Stuart Young said on Tuesday said arrangements are being made for Trinidad and Tobago nationals who went to Canada to work on farms to return home because of the covid19 pandemic. He added, We have repatriated some workers on two flights from Canada already. Today there is a dedicated CAL (Caribbean Airlines) flight from Canada to repatriate the workers. This flight was specifically for farm workers to come home. But Young said he was told some workers had chosen to stay in Canada even though they were granted approval to come home.
