james getting out of that van and going into the subway. so even though the cameras were not working at the actual platform where the train stopped at the 36th street station, they say there are other videos that show him getting into the subway system, wearing the clothing that people have described as what the gunman wore. so this is an enormous amount of evidence. you know, we were, 24 hours ago, talking about how they might be lucky to find fingerprints on the shell casings, or they might be lucky to trace the shell casings to the gun. and if it had been used in a previous crime, that would be a breakthrough, but you know, we re way, way past that, because he simply, apparently, walked out of that subway car and left all the evidence that you can possibly hope for at the scene. it seems odd, pete, because absolutely, just 24 hours ago, when we were speaking with you, there was so much
video that was seen. the camera was not working at the 36th street station, which was the subway stop where the train came to immediately after the shooting, and that s the shooting you saw of people getting out. but he he boarded the subway about ten or 12 stops before that down the line, or i guess you would say up the line, southbound away from manhattan, and that s near where he parked the van. as you say, he was on the subway line for well over an hour before he settled on to the car on the train and began firing the shots. there s a huge amount of evidence here. a cell phone has been found, and authorities can use that to trace his movements. they know he rented the van in pennsylvania, that he had a storage unit there that he shutdown before coming to new york. he left behind a lot of social media. there s a huge amount of evidence here. i think, as you say, this news conference was originally called
