Is just wrong. legislators should actually have a chance to legislate. no one can deny that we have kept our word in the democratic majority. today we will consider even more amendments, and hopefully we can bring this bill to a close, very shortly. our goal is to pass both a bipartisan infrastructure bill, and a budget budget resolution during this work period, and we will stay here to get both done. senator portman and the other republican senators negotiating the bill, promised it would be fully paid for, and not add to the deficit. but after senator portman and the republicans dropped, from the negotiated bill, a provision they had already agreed to, that would increase irs enforcement of tax law and therefore bring in more tax revenue, today the congressional budget office found that the bill is not fully paid for. it would add 256 billion
this is a politics bill that has gender identity language in it and open federal causes of action for gender identity lawsuits, this has a climate change agenda in it, the green new deal in it so this is all fueled with porkbarrel spending. the bill put the government in red, the congressional budget office estimates the measure will add $256 billion to the budget deficit over a decade. todd: texas, greg abbott calling for second special session of the state legislature, it will begin 12 hours after the first special session ends. they flee to dc to flock to republican voting bill. two of those runaway democrats are missing in action. texas monthly reporting jessica gonzalez and julie johnson are vacationing in portugal. gonzalez dismissed the report as rumor. governor abbott is keeping the special session until the entire group comes back to work. more credibility questions
Structure bill heard the congressional budget office where you used to work says that it would widen the federal budget deficit by $256 billion over ten years. now that s not what the proponents of the bill were saying. of course it does have republican support. senator rob portman asking his colleagues to pass it. take a look at the tweet from senator marco rubio. he says the massive bill is not as claimed, fully paid for and add 300 $350 billion to the national debt, everybody wants infrastructure, but what about that? that s right, only 47% of it is paid for, borrowing the remainder $256 billion. the answer is whether the infrastructure is good enough to be worth it. it will come down to that. and if you don t think so, you vote no. if you think so, you vote yes, we will find out shortly. anita: yes, we will, thank you so much for joining us today. john: anita, the pulse pounding moment as a sheriff s
Critics aren t so sure it s worth it. noting community colleges traditionally have high drop-out rates and often don t lead to top dollar jobs. community colleges don t have a great history of setting people up for high earnsings. so if we re get being people going to community colleges instead of a higher quality institution that they would have gone, absent this additional funding, then we re actually making that person worse off. reporter: another potential pitfall, biden s plan is a mixed bag for states, with some paying more to support community college plans than they already do. but back on campus, chris says community colleges provide students with the kind of practical job training many four-year schools lack. i actually have a job already lined up for when i graduate this summer working for a hip-hop company. i think community colleges do need to realize how beneficial they actually are. i hope people do realize that.
