Google itself has already acknowledged the problem and promised a fix in the next Android Auto release, adding that Ford has already been informed of the whole thing, and an update is on its way.
A Ford spokesperson told us the Android Auto bug-fixing update is projected to land in the spring, with more specifics on the ETA to be shared closer to the launch date. So at first glance, it looks like it’d still take a while for the carmaker to push this update to the 2021 Ford F-150, but in the meantime, impacted customers have two other options.

More specifically, some 2021 Ford F-150 owners claim that using their devices to power Android Auto wirelessly no longer works correctly, as the detection doesn t happen anymore after installing the update to Android 11.
But now it looks like the whole thing is becoming more widespread and most 2021 Ford F-150 models seem to be affected. Several readers confirmed the problem exists in their car too, and now someone on Google’s forums and claiming to be working at a Ford dealership says the connectivity glitch is experienced in every single new F-150 in their fleets with phones updated to Android 11.
