New Delhi, Jan 18 (PTI) The Cabinet on Thursday approved the creation of three officer-level posts for assisting the 16th Finance Commission, chaired by Arvind Panagariya.
16th Finance Commission: The newly created posts are required to assist the Commission in carrying out its functions, Cabinet Approves Creation of 3 Posts At Joint Secretary Level
The Union Cabinet has approved the creation of posts for the Sixteenth Finance Commission in India. Earlier, Arvind Panagariya was appointed as the head of the commission, with Ritwik R Pandey chosen as the secretary. The Finance Commission is responsible for dividing tax revenues between the central government and the states, and its recommendations will be in effect from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031.
