There is a lot of work happening around Albany this week, and because of that, there are several parking restrictions going into effect.
This includes several sections of downtown.
There are no parking signs posted, and police will be ticketing or towing drivers who ignore the rules.
The following restrictions will be in effect:
Beginning on Sunday, May 2nd at 7:00 a.m. until Wednesday, June 2nd at 5:00 p.m., parking will be restricted on the south side of Dana Avenue near 62 Dana Avenue for service vehicles.
Beginning on Monday, May 3rd at 7:00 a.m. until Tuesday, May 4th at 5:00 p.m., parking will be restricted on the west side of Jeanette Street from #20 Jeanette Street to Second Avenue for gas installation.

ALBANY The Common Council tabled a vote Monday on a bill that would ban city police from using tear gas and rubber bullets.
During their caucus prior to the regular meeting, council members expressed concerns about the bill as it stood and asked for more discussion to refine the bill. Mayor Kathy Sheehan had previously said she would veto the bill in its current form.
