Teenage boy dies after being pulled from Shortsville house fire

WHECTV Created: June 25, 2021 04:40 PM SHORTSVILLE, N.Y. (WHEC) The 15-year-old boy who was seriously injured after he was pulled from a house fire in Shortsville, Ontario County has died. A mother and four children were able to get out of the home safely, but her 15-year old son, William Bill Stubinger was trapped inside. Fire crews were eventually able to get him out. Patti Derycke He was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, cyanide poisoning and burns. Cyanide poisoning is common for fire victims because cyanide is a byproduct of burning plastic. Ontario County Sheriff Kevin Henderson Friday evening confirmed that the boy passed away.

They will be appointed by the school’s Board of Education. The current superintendent, Roger Catania, is retiring at the end of this school year. Catania has been Lake Placid Central School District’s superintendent since 2013, though he worked at the high school as a counselor for several years before that, starting in 1997. The three candidates who are being considered as his replacement are Timothy Seymour, the current superintendent of the St. Regis Falls Central School District; Saranac Laker Dana Wood, former principal of the Lake Placid Middle-High School and current assistant superintendent for business, finance and support services at LPCSD; and Margaret Wright, a Canandaigua resident who has served in various administrative roles in school districts throughout the Finger Lakes region.
