DETEC estimates that power restoration may take up to 3 weeks to complete. Currently, there are 22,365 meters without power which accounts for 50% of the DETEC system. All outages are now due to ice accumulation causing downed trees and lines. Rolling blackouts and load issues are no longer the primary issues as much damage to the system has occurred.

2 arrested after leading officials on high-speed chase through Nacogdoches, Rusk Counties

Author: Giselle Chavez (CBS 19) Published: 7:22 PM CST January 29, 2021 Updated: 9:33 PM CST January 29, 2021 NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas Two men were arrested Thursday afternoon after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase that started in the city of Nacogdoches and ended in Rusk County. According to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff s Office, a deputy attempted to stop a black pickup truck for a traffic violation at the Loop and University Drive.  The vehicle refused to stop and continued down University Drive to E. Austin Street. During the pursuit, attempts were made to stop the vehicle and spike strips were deployed. However, the suspect was able to avoid the spike strips.
