New parking restrictions to address overcrowding and safety concerns take effect June 2 at popular trailheads in East Vail. With those restrictions in place, the town of Vail and the White River National Forest encourage hikers to “Bus It to Hike It.”
The parking area for the Booth Lake Trailhead in Vail will be closed for the summer season. Parking at the Pitkin and Bighorn trailheads will be limited to three hours with no overnight parking. Visitors to the Gore/Deluge Trailhead will see designated parking spaces and delineated no parking areas to address conflicts between vehicles and bicyclists on Vail Pass.
Vail resident and visitors alike are being asked by the multiple local and federal agencies too Bus It to Hike it due to the limited number of parking spots at
shows expenses incurred between December 17, 2020, and January 3, 2021 include 77 charges from rental car companies at Eagle County Regional Airport and Denver International Airport, and lodging expenses at several area hotels including over $270,000 spent at the Marriott Vail Mountain and more than $80,000 at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch.

. Mike and Karen Pence were the only two listed protectees on the documents.
A brief history of VP visits
The Vail area has a long history of visits from vice presidents and the costs tied to security detail are the largest expenses from these trips. Members of the Secret Service have also, more than once, been in the spotlight for things other than operational costs.
