Share German fund manager Real I.S. has reinforced investor confidence in the city fringe and inner suburban office market post-COVID after paying $75 million for a brand new building in Melbourne’s South Yarra. Real I.S, which manages $1.25 billion of assets in Australia and $8.8 billion globally, acquired 11 Wilson Street, a nine-level office building from developer Bill McNee’s Vicland on a low yield of about 4.5 per cent. The building at 11 Wilson Street is one of a number of speculative office projects in Melbourne’s inner suburbs.  Colliers agents Daniel Wolman, Oliver Hay and Rachael Clohesy who marketed the South Yarra building, said it had attracted “genuine interest” from buyers all over Australia and well as from Asia, Europe and America despite the sales campaign, which kicked off in May, being disrupted by another Melbourne lockdown.
