Some have camped out since this morning when the zookeepers first saw signs of labor. They all looked on to watch mei xiang until they the cub came out. I was overjoyed. I have been waiting. There was a squeal. It was not the baby. It was us. The mother likes the baby for comfort. It is just pure happiness. The joy ended abruptly for some. When the panda camera went out seconds later. It went off. We wanted to continue to hear the baby to know that she was healthy. So far, there has only been good news. Mom is being excellent. The baby is vocalizing. It is a great time for the two of them. We dont want to disturb that. A biologist tells us the panda seemed to be in more time pain this time despite the faster delivery.
