As you mentioned a couple hours ago this sixyearold boy was shot in the left shoulder. He is expected to survive but at this hour, the hunt is on for this gunman. Obviously they want to get him off the street. All of this playing out just before 8 oclock tonight where we are here at 24th and norris in north philadelphia. Sixyearold boy was outside with his father and brother feet from their home when four shots rang out. The boy was hit. He ran inside the home. Thats when the family recognized he was bleeding badly. Police quick to the scene here, they were able to rush him to Temple University hospital. Initially this sixyearold was in Critical Condition but was upgraded to stable and transferred to saint christophers hospital. This happened on beautiful evening. Its close across the street from a school playground. A car was also hit with the gunshot. No one else was hurt. It doesnt appear to be any sort of a shootout so police are still trying to determine why the gunfire. Standing out front of his house minding his own business talking to his father and his brother when the shots rang out and he was obviously struck by stray gunfire. Nobody intentionally shoots a sixyearold. Reporter and so again the search continues now for this gunman. Theres not a very good description of him. We are told there are surveillance cameras in the area. Police are now kind of scouring through that video to see if that might indicate who was behind this. A Toms River Police officer hospitalized after a bad crash back in january has died. The Department Says patrolman brett hanson passed away today. Authorities say hanson was off duty when his car crashed into a truck on the garden state parkway eight months ago. He underwent several surgeries but never fully recovered. Hanson joined the department back in 2015. He was 28 years old. A brazen and violent robbery caught on camera. A store owner pistol whipped in the face. Tonight police are looking for the two men behind this horrifying and vicious attack. The Armed Robbers storming a car shop in East Lansdowne having no mercy on their helpless victims who were terrorized by these masked men in hoodies. At first i thought it was just someone joking around. Oh, it was no joke. A quiet friday morning turning into a moments of terror when two masked gunmen barged into this Auto Repair Shop on wildwood avenue in East Lansdowne. The criminals, violently throwing the three people inside to the ground. This man, the 67yearold owner, pistol whipped, blood running down his face. He asked us not to identify him. Men with guns ran through the front door and accosted all of us. He pistol whipped me and i opened up the drawer and gave him the cash from the business from the daily receipts. At one point he grabbed a bat but that was the better of swinging. Another victim just out of the cameras view also repeated thrown down. I just got thrown around a little bit. I been robbed at gunpoint before. Its not the first time with a gun in my face. The receptionist emotional explaining how she tried to protect her friends. My boss, thats my boss. Worried about him. And my mechanic. I even said shoot me. They didnt. Out the door they went. Thats all i can say. At one point the gunmen were by the opened door in plain view the victims say of a passerby. Standing at the doorway and theres someone standing right there and just walks away. The shops owner in business here for 47 years and loved by neighbors. Great guy. Hell do anything for anyone. He always looks out for the neighborhood. Hes not only a guy that will help anybody that he knows but hes the most generous guy in the world. The gunman made off with a few bucks but in the process one lost his mask. To watch that video to see what he went through, ive never seen anything like that ever. The victims were obviously shaken. Fortunately no one was seriously hurt. The two robbers are still on the run tonight. If you know anything at all or you recognize these men, call police. Nine days after Hurricane Maria strikes puerto rico and residents, they are still begging for help. The situation there is dire. Most areas still without power, without food and clean water. Tonight, support in philadelphia. Hundreds rallying for puerto rico calling for action. And several other local cities also trying to help. This time, Puerto Rican Born pop star luis fonsi is teaming up with the red cross and caesars. He skyrocketed to the top of the charts with his hit song despacito knows all too well the devastation in puerto rico and tomorrow night here in Atlantic City, hes joining the effort to help hurricane victims. Its a collaborative effort between luis and Caesars Entertainment and all of the guests will have the opportunity to make a direct contribution to the red cross on behalf or the relief efforts. Reporter at caesars in ac close to a third of the employees are from puerto rico or have loved ones on the hurricane ravaged island. So, this relief effort hits very close to home. Thats why we, Caesars Entertainment because of our workforce its so important with their friends and family and we want to be able to make a difference in this terrible situation. Hes a great singer from puerto rico and hes doing his best to help the Puerto Ricans in a situation like this. Reporter Caesars Entertainment and the the red cross approached luis about the idea. It provides enormous credibility to the artist to be able to give back to the community that, you know where they grew up and where they became famous. Reporter interesting jose morales told me that caesars housekeeping group, a big group of employees here, put together a huge bake sale for the relief effort and we are told that caesars Parent Company donated 50,000 for direct relief for Hurricane Maria victims. A Lancaster County couple ordered to give up their dogs after being found guilty on six counts of animal cruelty. The spca taking 14 dogs from their home barack in july. They pleaded guilty to lack of Veterinary Care and lack of necessary shelter for the dogs. They are not allowed to own any dogs at all for 540 days. Luckily the dogs were signed over to the spca and they all have found homes. 10 years in prison, thats what a south jersey man got after pleading guilty for killing his threeyearold son. David creato was sentenced in the 2015 murder of his son brendan. Our jeff cole was at court today when the sentence was handed down. Reporter handcuffed, his long ponytail gone, wearing prison red, david creato entered a camden court to face up to the death of his son. With the childs mother looking on, he refused to speak. Thats what we have to find out. Reporter in court, a moving video with images of the smiling toddler played. It was october of 2015 when creato reported brendan missing. The childs body was found three hours later in a creek near his home. The jury could not come to a verdict. Prosecutors argued creato killed the child so he would be free to pursue a romance with his teenaged girlfriend. Last month creato admitted to depriving brendan of oxygen and agreed to a charge of aggravated manslaughter in return for 10 years behind bars. Bucks County District attorney Matt Weintraub announcing charges against Jennifer Morrissey in the Fatal Shooting of 64yearold michael mcnew. Investigators say they found threatening Text Messages and cell phone records that link morrissey to mcnews murder. The victim was shot once in the face in his home back in august. It started over an argument after mcnew asked morrissey to move out of his house. Morrissey is jailed without bail. Montgomery county Police Nabbing a suspected robber with four Different Bank robberies netting total grand. Authorities say jamil coates robbed the key bank on valley forge road on wednesday. An officer says he spotted coates in a gold car later that night stopped him and found the money stolen from the key bank. Police suspect him of robbing banks in whitpain montgomery and upper dublin townships. Four men indicted for dealing a record amount of fentanyl. New Jersey State Police and u. S.
