Steve keeley at Police Headquarters with the very latest for us, hi there, steve report report homicide detectives were busy because they had a couple murders as soon as the sun went down so one around 8 00 and then another one, one were talking about here after midnight and this one is odd, because they get to this shooting scene we are showing you video of at 17th and cumberland and they say there is a lot of evidence on this scene. There was a lot of bullets fired. However, they dont find a shooting victim even though they see blood. Witnesses actually cooperate with police when they show up and say, the guy that was shot , many times, was helped out by another guy, put in the back seat of the car, and then driven away and police figure, it is not too far from them, maybe on the way to Temple University hospital and so they go in that direction and that is where they find the car, 13th and rising sun they see the guy in the back seat, they continue to take him to the hospital, but he was shot so many times at such close range there was no chance for survival. Based on ballistics evidence, and witness information, it appears this was an execution type homicide the shooter approached the victim who was leaning on the vehicle, and the shooter from point blank range fired several shots at the victim. When the victim fell to the ground, the shooter, stood over him, and in very close proximity fired multiple shots in his head, face and neck area. Reporter so, here is the second scene at 13th and rising sun, when police, caught up to that car, and they found the man in the back seat. You will notice the wheel missing. Well, then this guy despite being shot so many times had a friend that loaded him in another car and youll see that after we hear from inspector scott small telling us how vicious and savage this killer was. We dont know if they were shot out or he hit something in the race to get out of there and get to Temple University but police told us they used the word intercepted this car as this person was trying to drive the shooting victim to temple. So what police did they got the guy out of the back seat of this car, put him in the back seat of the Philadelphia Police car and got him to temple hospital but he was pronounced dead instantly at 12 26, shooting happened just around midnight. So wow, what an awful scene. We dont know how many times this person was shot but one cop said dont be surprised if this guy had 20 plus gunshot into him because somebody shot him several times, and then shot him even more times, when he was lying on the ground. They have bullet shells in pools of blood, so this person wanted to make sure not only that he was dead but he wanted to send a message too it sound s like. Simply horrific.
