Reporter well, as of tonight chris we know a 42yearold man was shot dead execution style. Were told a 38yearold man an innocent bystander was taken to the hospital, shot in the hand by stray bullet. This all happened just outside this rec center earlier tonight it was full of kids and young adults. Next thing we know we just hear gunshots, pop pop pop. Alex nash describes the heart racing shots we heard while his group was working out at the rec center at 60th columbia in west philly this morning. They scattered all over. Kids running all over. Kids everywhere. Its a playground report roar Police Say Two masked gunmen a white infinity suv shots several shots at a man just outside the pool area of the rec center. It appeared that he was ambushed. He was shot multiple times and then the shooter came up on top of him and shot him in the head to make sure that he was dead. Reporter police say an innocent bystander inside the pool area was hit in the hand by a stray bullet. The gunfire rang out while several children were in the pool and on the playground. A basketball game was also going on on the court outside. Jasmine haines was there with her fiveyearold son. I was scared. I was scared. Just like gunshots. They could have traveled over there to us and anybody anybody. Kids running and we just started taking cover. Reporter police are looking at surveillance cameras to see if they captured any of the violence. Violence the community wishes would stop. Me personally i dont like it it because kids considering you know, kids happening theyre in the way. Its always, you know, drive by shootings and stray bullets dont have a name oint. It can go any way. Reporter and back here live, crime seen investigators still on the scene tonight at this hour witnesses tell police that the suspect drove into the driveway of a home nearby, removed the license plates from the car and then took off. Man is in Critical Condition tonight after being shot by police it happened about 7 00 oclock in north philadelphia. Police say they were called to the intersection of eighth and green streets for reports of a man with a gun. They say when officers arrived they saw a man with a weapon in his waistband according to investigators that man was refused to show his hands and when he started to pull the gun out, an officer fired hitting him in the chest. Happening right now new details in the murder of a West Philadelphia woman. 27yearold Jasmine Wright was found dead in her apartment last night. Police tell us they are makeing progress in their investigation tonight. They believe she may have known her killer, and her parents may help them figure out what happened. Reporter Ashley Cheatham lives right next door to the home where 27yearold drexel graduate Jasmine Wright was murdered friday she remembered the young woman she would see coming and going from her home. She was just nice. She would say hi and walk passed. Pretty. Kept herself up. Reporter maybe Melanie Harris notice what its like to lose a loved one. Her sister and mother just passed away. She was shaken by wrights murder. There are no words that can even say how much that hurts. You know, its devastating. A young girl her whole life ahead of her. Im devastated for them. She was beaten very badly. Ultimately she was strangled. That is the cause of death strangulation. So it would appear that it was sort of personal. Reporter homicide detectives and crime seen investigators worked into the night thursday looking for clues and evidence in the murder. Neighbors reported seeing jasmine on wednesday. Her body was discover thursday afternoon. We believe that she let the person in or they had a key. Shocked to see that somebody actually died, you know, i dont know whats going on. Jasmine had just graduated from the Masters Program at drexel four weeks ago. She was also a graduate of penn state. One of the parents was actually on the phone with the daughter either at the time of assault or right before the assault. So obviously that will be critical find out what she heard or what she knows. I just hope they catch who did it because she was so pretty pretty. My heart goes out to the familily. Police are trying to find whoever shot two people in the citys fair hill section. This happening around 2 00 this morning near the intersection of front and clearfield streets. Investigators say someone opened fire from a white cadillac. Two people were taken to Temple University hospital. No word tonight on their conditions. A man arrested for allegedly trying to object duct a child last week is under arrest again for trying to nab another child according to police but instead tonight he is locked up with high bail. Police say isaac dugba approached a 10yearold girl walking in darby borough after 7 00 oclock on the 600 block of derby terrace. Septa transit officers had noticed suspicious van driving in the area. So when the 911 call was made they sprung into action. He was caught few blocks away and arrested. The only reason he was out last night was he was able to post bail from his first arrest bail that was reduced by a judge. I have no idea why this guy wasnt in jail. Someone recommends 50 grand 50 grand is what it should be. The 6584 old is now jailed in lieu of 250,000 bail. A motorcade carried the bodies of four marines killed in yesterdays shootings in chattanooga to virginia airport today. From there they flew to dover delaware. Police say a man in his 30s walk into a Beneficial Bank on the 1600 block of Chestnut Street just before 11 00 this morning. Investigators say he handed the teller a note demanding cash. Its unclear how much he got away with. If you recognize this guy call police. The family of a philadelphia man who they claim is the victim of Excessive Force at the hands of Philadelphia Police is calling for act. Cell phone video of the arrest of the 22yearold tyreke carol taken back in april surfaced online earlier this month. It appears to show punches and baton strikes being delivered as he struggles with officers. Two officers were allegedly bitten by carol as they tried repeatedly to get his hands behind his back to cuff him. Today his family and familys attorney gathered to demand justice. The video is nothing short of shocking. The utter disregard for the welfare and the wellbeing of mr. Carol is just shocks my sense of right and wrong. The family has planned a march for us . Firefighters still arent sure what caused the explosion. But neighbors report smelling gas in that area for several days. A detroit mother will spend the rest of her life in prison for killing two of her four children. Judge handing down that sentence to Mitchell Blair today. Blair admitting to killing them and storing their bodies for years in a home freezer. She says she does not regret doing it because she says they sexually abused her other children. Reporter police releaseing several photos of suspects at least one couple targeting victims from massachusetts to georgia. Most were believed to be local. Neurosurgeon used a new laser method to remove the tumor. Before doctors would have to cut the skull open and pull it apart to perform the surgery. But with this new method they didnt really have to cut much. By sculpting the energy of that laser we can basically melt away the tumor without damaging the rest of the brain. Its not radiation in the sense we think of. Its really just concentrated heat that melts it away.
