A 79yearold woman shot twice while sitting on her front porch is recovering and now the search is on for the shooter tonight. That shooting happened on 25th street in north philadelphia last night. Just after 10 30. The woman says she heard an argument and then moment later gunfire. She says she ran for her life but fell in the doorstep and was hit twice by stray bullets once in the ankle and then a second time in the left leg. Oh, my god, ive been shot. And i called my son. I said, ive been shot, ive been shot. Feel like sitting on my porch at night no more. She tells fox 29 she did not see the gunman because it was dark. Police dont have a description or a motive in the shooting but say the woman was clearly not the target. Police are now reviewing Surveillance Video. Now to a story youll see only on fox. A bank robber was run down in philadelphias wick is a hick couldnt neighborhood today and only our crews were there as fbi agents got the banks money back. Another suspect is still on the loose. A woman going down the street reached down in the hole picked the bag up threw it under her arm and took off. Reporter bill macauley watched amazement wednesday morning as suspected female bank robber came running down ridge avenue followed closely by this Fifth District police officer. Seconds later the suspect was under arrest and being taken away. Police woman was right on her. She only got this far. Pretty good. Very good. Reporter police say the suspect had just held up this td bank with a man carrying a gun as the pair ran from the bank, one dropped a bag containing the money and a red dye pack that exploded. The female suspect went back to retrieve the money and got nabbed. The gunman escape. I didnt realize what was going on. Until i seen her put the handcuffs on her. It happen just before noon at ridge and hermit in roxborough. Only fox 29 was there as fbi agents arrived on the scene and collected the bag filled with money and this black scarf recovered from the female suspect. Agents also checked surveillance cameras on the block near the scene. Pretty quite here. Nobody bothers anybody. They didnt rob nobody. They rob the bank. Reporter investigators have not said if this could be the socalled burka bandit who held up four banks in the northeast in a month. She was caught on tape robbing a Citizens Bank just last week and getting away with 6,000. Now at this hour the fbi says they do not believe the woman arrested today is the socalled burka bandit.
