We now know that Philadelphia School district yellow bus that was booted at 52nd and pine thursday morning was disable by the Parking Authority for four unpaid ticks totaling 675 including penalties and a boot fee itself. And not just any old unpaid parking tickets. Confirms School District spokesman fernando guillard. We have found out that three of the four tickets are red light tickets meaning that the bus actually ran a red light. It gets word. Red light violations date to april of 2,009 and april and june of 2012. All during the school calendar. Two of the three incidents happened at jfk and broad street right after 8am. The bus might well have been carrying its usual load of special needs children. How do you not know about this for literally years after the fact . The first thing its outrageous. Someone would be driving a bus and running a red light and if they had the kids in it, its even worse. And reporter how does the district not know about that . We dont know because we didnt receive the tickets. Reporter thats because the bus was registered to a long ago closed district garage. The tickets were sent to the wrong address. Ultimately the district paid its tab and the bus was unbooted. But think about it. That april 2012 red light violation might justifiably have led to the suspension or firing of the bus driver and yet that driver potentially kept driving and got another one in june. Potentially it would be the same driver but we do not know. Were looking to get bottom in the wake of this incident the district will make sure now that all of its yellow buses are registered to district headquarters on north broad so that any tickets come to the immediate attention of district officials. Take you down there and you can see winds were up to 65 Miles Per Hour causing some damage to several structures. So as we take a look at the ef0 scale you can see between 65 to 85 Miles Per Hour but the one in sections of berks county was almost into that category 2ef0 rating there on the scale goes from zero to five. So as we take look at the wind damage reports across the area, we saw it widespread across the area as that nasty squall line showers and thunderstorms just raced through our area last night with the severe thunderstorm warnings. Several tornado warnings as well. 84 degrees right now but look at the humidity. 40 . So it feels like 84 degrees. Comfortable conditions if youre stepping outdoors for your friday evening plans.
