Fox5 ross bob barnard live in baltimore with the the details this morning and the hospitals response. Bob . Reporter yeah, guys, this is the university of medical Medical Center midtown campus. Not shock trauma the Trauma Center down by the inner harbor another one of the University Systems hospital in midtown baltimore. This happened tuesday night here outside the emergency room. I can show that you video tape. Were blurring this womans face out of privacy concerns. If you can see her face you can see she had some facial and head wounds. She was here at the er on tuesday night. This video recorded by a man who happened to be walking by. A psycho therapist he says on the recording here much his name is imam he shot this video. Confronted the employees and tried to care for this woman. Posted this video on facebook saying he wanted people to waist and share it. He clearly upset and outraged you talk to people here in baltimore this morning who have seen it. They are as well. The man on the recording here and whose taking this video says it appeared this woman had Mental Health issues and was being treated terribly. Come on. I know its cold. woman grunting . Okay. Maam. Come and sit down. Come on. They just left all her stuff out here, right . This is disgusting that they would just leave her unattended on a bus stop half naked. Sadder sup visor available . Im a supervisor. That woman out there like that. When i say she has no clothes on, she literally had just a hospital gown on, no underwear, and it is at least 30 or colder degrees out here. So the idea that theyre going to take her back to the hospital where security discharged her, that is so irresponsible. Reporter now what mr. Mr. Baraks referring to he called 911 an ambulance showed up and brought the woman back inside the hospital. The university of maryland Medical Center midtown campus released this statement about this incident. It says, we share the shock and disappointment of many who have viewed the video. We clearly failed to fulfill our mission with this patient. We are taking this matter very seriously, conducting a thorough review and are evaluating the appropriate response including the possibility of personnel acti status of this woman. Someone who works at the hospital told us this hospital does have a psych ward. So she was being kick out of the er with just a hospital gown and socks. Shes in the hospital now where exactly were not sure and it appears, guys, that because of this, heads could roll and questions are being asked about how they systematically deal with certain patients here at this hospital. Heads should roll. Right. Sheds should roll. The minimum thank you bob. Its heartbreaking this is a human being that you toss out into the cold. I mean i dont know what she did. I dont know the back story but rash less you are facility is supposed to help people in need you dont kick them on the street with a gown. Yeah, metro is so confident in its ability to deliver on time performance during rush hour that it says it is willing to offer a financial money back guarantee the key to all of that would be registered smart trip guard. Now heres how the program is going to work. Its called the Customer Confidence program. Rush hour trips that are delayed by 15 minutes or more would be eligible and you have to register your smart trip card because that is how it will be able to track your trip and whetherha the refunds also important with that smart trip card because they would be automatic. No forms, no action required by the customer you will getter email notifying you that youre eligible for the credit and then the credit would appear on your smart trip card within five days. Metro bus customers eligible for the refunds but there will be some kind of a web form set up for them. Now after the safetrack progra, new rail cars and improved schedule link metro says that today nine out of ten weekday trains arrive on time. Still ridership is down. People lack confidence and that means less revenue. But will this new plan help keep current riders win back dissatisfied customers we put the question to riders on twitter it is clear they are still a skeptical bunch. So were talking about like major weather events, regional emergencies, Major Construction projects, those dont count for the refunds. The program is only going to last for one year. Its going to cost three and a half million dollars. But metro thinks its worth the money to try to make people feel confident in the system. As for today, it is going up for a vote in committee. If it gets through the committee, then that vote would go on to the full board and would probably be voted on at the end of the month if its passed it probably start sometime in february. She says shes appalled at her treatment during the School Board Meeting on monday night. Hargrave had been asked to leave after the School Board President ruled her comments out of order and now shes calling on others around the state and nation to go to School Board Meetings and speak out on important issues. U. S. Immigration agents arrested 21 people in raids targeting dozens of 7eleven stores. That was across the country on wednesday. That included several stores in the dc and baltimore areas. Although arrested were suspected of being in the country illegally. The move appears to be part of the Trump Administrations crack down on illegal immigration. Statement from 7eleven says, owners at Franchise Stores they are responsible for hiring and varying their own employees. Well heres some good news for walmart workers. The Discount Retail giant announced this raising its starting wage for employees to 11 bucks an hour. Walmart is also going to give bonuses to workers based on how long theyve been with the company. Those big strong legs have really taken you far, and i had to sort of have moment and say, you know what, i am proud of this, because having multiple sclerosis i can have my legs give out on me at any point in time. Exactly. People will tell you that. There are people that are in wheel chairs that have ms. So i am more and more proud of these big strong legs that i stand tall. You know janice the flip side unfortunately there are people who will see this and say this is selfserving, why does she seen need to respond to one person who made a ridiculous statement, but again i say i think sometimes it is important to point out to these people you dont know me. Just because you see one facet of me, one part of me on screen, doesnt mean you know my story or the path ive walked in life. Usually i dont. I will respond to people and Say Something like, bless your heart. Have a great day. But i just felt this one i had to put it out there. That she doesnt know m just because we are on tv it doesnt mean we dont have feelings. And this one, you know, this one struck close to home. Ive always been a curvy person. Ive always said i wish i had thinner legs. But now more than ever im 47 years old, ive been walking on these legs for 47 years i have two beautiful boys, i want to be a roll model for the girls out there that want to get into television and have curvy bodies. Absolutely. Arent the same size. Everyone has a joanne out there. She actually took her post down from social media. I only want the best for her. Maybe if she took a moment and said, you know what, maybe i dont know who does those kind of of things. Exactly. Im not a person that would get on social media and criticize somebody for their looks. So you know maybe shes going through turmoil in her life. I dont know. I dont know joanne. I only wish her the best and all i wanted toed was raise awareness for young women out there and i think now is the time to be empowered by what we look like and stand tall. Well it is a powerful message i to the floor, yes, we do need to show women out there that we come in multiple shapes, sizes, colors, et cetera, and all of it should be celebrated and youre right, i think that women who wrote into you far more people who take happened in their lives theyre not happy with and they project and you know they Say Something that maybe even in their normal life they wouldnt ordinarily say kudos to you for handling it very classy and dig tide way and may be a lesson to all of who occasionally maybe want to pop off on someone who might Say Something a little not nice. We spoke to many of them short time ago, and theyre all still a big part of their communities all of them believe in giving back and remaining active. The majority of them some are still working full time, part time. Some take care of their elder parents or their grandkids. Very active in the community and in the church. Being active helps them to pay it forward. Gives them the energy the stamina to keep paying it forward. Your show made me want to do it and ive got many many letters from people that have taken on things they had given up on. So thats the most beautiful thing. One thing people realize when you became famous that i success. But so much work and so many things and specialsly when you come with a new sound and different last name. So many people said this would never happen. This would never happen. You know something, i think thats what i love about this show at the end you take message of hope and the american dream. Its such a successful and incredible marriage watch kind of relationship advice do you have for people today . I dont give anyone any kind of advice. I think people first of all, yes, one type of advice. Two to three years before you commit to someone because i think it takes that long to r really know, you know, they cant hide for two to three years unless theyre experts, all right. Theres going to come up something where you really it cant just be about being in love. Being in love is a drug its a necessary thing you have to be in love but you also have to see that this person and you click. Were not by any means the same but we balance each other very much and we have the same goals and values and priorities. We rarely differ on music or business, and were on the same page as to what should be most important which is our family. But the basis you have to be in love when you get married. Exactly. You have to have respect. A lot of communication and and keep shaving your legs. Good advice. [ laughter ] in the long run you have to tell yes your wife anything she tells you andville 40 years of marriage. If you believe that i have swamp land in florida. Please. Such a beautiful love story throughout the play you also have some drama the bus accident and the recovery for that. Yes. How does it feel to watch that on stage . A lot easier than going through it in person. I can tell you that much, yeah. It was not fun. But i wouldnt change it because it really it taught me a lost it changed my music. It changed my way of expressing myself and the fact that i did it a lot more so after that because you realize how precarious, you know, when youre that age, you dont think about your mortality or t that in one second your life can change. Right. And it can. Bottom line for all of us, and in todays world theres even more dangers that anyone has so, um, i think that its important that every step of the way youre on the same page and that accident changed things for lot of people because they saw me go through it. It was so inspiring to so many people. I thought when it happened i go maybe this is the only reason i became famous because i never really did music for fame i did it because i loved it. Maybe people now seeing me go through this they realize stuff happens to everyone, and maybe it will, you know, be helpful to other people. It was important. I think the big changes realize when Something Like this happen people dont have fun when they can have fun. They wait when something happens. Thats what i always tell, you love somebody, tell somebody how much you love them, kiss them enjoy every single people theyre not happy. I see people have that nothing, they get something and they say look at this. We still have that. We still have when we buy something we really appreciate or we share something with somebody else and we fry to kiss and hug anybody we love because in one minute your life can change. I loved sitting down and t talking when think couple they were so down to earth. Just such a wonderful interview. It is a love story. They did share their first kiss back in the 70s back on the fourth of july on his birthday and theyve been together ever since since the love story come to life on stage that will be a treat and just really inspiring journey. Gloria was really injured during that bus crash back in scranton. It took her so long to recover and her story is just been such inspiration to fans around the world guys. And the more i thought about it the more excited i got about it and i ended up doing it. I flew to la the next week. Did you meet any of them before you perform or the first time you saw them when you walk out on stage with your guitar. They made sure the first time we saw them was like there. I saw them on one of the st stars kate and she actually came and talk to me and the two other performers before we performed. But she she was really amazing but it was the first time i saw them. Heres the cool thing meghan. If you watched the clip on youtube when you see it, everyone of them had great things to say to you about your performance afterward. Did you get any more feedback after that and how did that make you feel after knowing that you went out there to do this . Honestly the scariest ones were the song writers like the riders of the more personal for you, sure. As a s oh my god im performing right in front of the song writers and they came out to me came up to me afterwards and were so complimentary i ended up going to the premier which is an incredible movie if you havent seen they came up to me there, too, and theyre so supportive and i think they know like, you know, how long of a journey and how hard it is, you know, in any art form and theyre so encouraging.
