News4 tells us this appears to be a fight between two workers. Hi, amy. Mel lisa, erika, learned a man killed in his 20s. So they have arrested someone so no fleet to tthreat to the publ. One of them pulled out a gun and fight ended with one worker shooting and killing the other. Alleged shooter is a man in his 50s. D. C. Police say they are calling him a person of interest and questioning him. We came across him as we were coming up. So he was readily available. Hes been cooperating with us. Now as you can see, that shooting took place compound. This is the old walter reed medical campus. So in order to be on the grounds people would need clearance. Not yet clear who these people worked for. Police have not yet released their identity. That is the latest. Live in new york. Aimee cho news4. Aime, thank you. Sensitive and very delicate detective work is happening rigow Virginia State police right now searching for the remains of a woman missing for eight years. Pamela butler vanished in 2009. News4 was just reported that her boyfriend Rodriguez Cruz told investigators where will he buried her body. Search started a few hours ago. So are the detectives already on the scene. Have they been at work for sometime now . What does it look like out there . Reporter yeah, investigators gathered at a nearby business about 9 30, 10 00 this morning, and after getting a briefing got under way. There are investigators, specially trained dogs on the scene, and looking in the median of i95 between the main lanes and the express lanes im told about four miles north of are focusing on and expected to be there for several hours today. Now investigators have renewed hope they will find the body of pamela butler. She was murder nd 2009. Her body never found. So her family was able to have a memorial but not properly able to say a final goodbye. Well now the man confessed of killing her, former boyfriend, he is now cooperating with police in exchange for lighter sentence. He told investigators he buried butler in the median between the north and south bound lanes of i95 area being searched right now. Butler brother garr set eagerly awaiting word on the search. He says hes heard many lies in the past but this time hes opening cruz is telling the truth. They seem to have betted him very well and seem to think they are on the right track. So all i can do is trust them h you know, he hadnt told me i would be very skeptical. But they vetted him and seem to think hes telling the truth so im going with that. Oh, my goodness, it would benign years, though. I guess just agony just lifted off of me, you know. So as you just heard the family very, very hopeful here that they will get some kind of closure. If not, a permanent kind of closure at least they can have a proper burr yell and know what happened to her and have that moment of relief here with this horrible or deal. Latest outlook for firefighters as we get ready for our first snow of this season, its going to it be another hot dry and windy for people in Southern California. Reporter gusts up to 25mileperhour that is slightly better than the conditions we had yesterday when we had hurricane strength winds which helped push the numbers in these fires way up. We are at four fires. We are now at six fires today stretching from way south to mexico with new one in san diego that is threatening to go all the way to the beach from in land san diego county. So far the numbers are about 500 homes and buildings that have been destroyed or damaged in all six fires. 23,000 homes remain in the fires path and 200,000 people remain under mandatory evacuation orders. I think a lot of kids will love it a lot of adults will love t and storm moves offshore. We have snow in the forecast for tomorrow if you have not heard our first snowfall for most of the area. Heres the storm system. Really elongated across the south with rain to the south. This will head offshore. Sitting off coastline. Edge of that snow will be moving through our area. So the forecast has changed a bit. If you havent watched since maybe yesterday afternoon or yesterday morning. We have tweaked a few things because now seeing clear image of the track of this storm. South of the district we have a little bit of rain. So trying to form here. Most of it going to stay away from most of the area until late tonight. Currently 41 degrees. Cloudy outside. We are waiting for the storm to get closer to us. Heres a look at the snowfall totals. 1 to 3 inches around the distrifbt. Maybe an inch or more as you get father north and west. That will be the edge of the snow is. And that will be the first area to see it move out. Father south and east, thats where well have the le 4 inches. Heres the timing of this. 1 00 p. M. But there definitely are some ways to do it to bring an animal into your family during the Holiday Season and make it as a family gift. Why would you recommend they dont give a pet as a present . Its such a commitment. So you want to make sure whoever is getting that gift, whether or not its a friend or you think oh, my motherinlaw she needs a dog. If she talked about wanting a dog dont do it. But if your family has talked with it and come to a decision, how about a dog or cat. And do it together. Do it together. Make it a family event. It could be a holiday event and still be presented as the decision has been made, you know, it could be on a piece of paper well go do this. This is the family gift. We are going off to the animal match. Good idea. Because after the holidays you see more animals getting returned. There are some, definitely. So before and after. And you know, its a good time. People, if you have children, they are off of school, hopefully adults have some type off work, so great time to come down to the animal shelter. And extra time to settle in with your animal and get them off to a good start. And make sure everyone is compatible. All the things that you need before you get a pet. Fostering is also a good option too, isnt it . It is. We always have humane rescue alliance. We have dogs and cats in need of foster. And Holiday Season the need is still there. Lets talk about a few other things as far as decorations concerned with your pets around. What should we watch out and be cautious for . Look around and see all our pets are different. Think about what your pet might be curious about. My cat seems to think the toy display. Not good. Yeah. So just think about that. Think about things like ribbons. Likely to get ingested and that can cause problems. And tinsel is no good, right . Right. Can cause an obstruction. Think about the different decorations.
