The wildfires, four of them burning an hour outside of los angeles, have destroyed 150 structures. Theres no doubt, Officials Say, that number will likely climb into the hundreds. Crews havent been able to go doortodoor, to count that number of some 200,000 people have been forced out of their homes this morning. 15,000 homes remain in the path of this fire. Crews are going to attack this place from the air and on the ground. But those nasty santa ana winds continue to fan the flames all across the region. The construction is widespread. Many neighborhoods have been completely wiped off the map. The big concern is 70mileperhour winds tomorrow. So, while crews will get a break today, tomorrow, they will again be in the face of this fire and, again, savannah, 15,000 homes remain threatened. Savannah, back to you. Thank you. The New York Times looking at providing answers to questions how weinsteins behavior could be kept out of the spotlight so long. This morning, new details how Harvey Weinstein covered up years of Sexual Harassment. The New York Times describes a complicity machine inside and outside of his company. And says he used his friendships with major power players from politics, business and the media, to his advantage. The times writing, according to 200 interviews, some aided his actions without knowing what he was doing. Few understood the scale of his sexual misconduct. Almost everyone had incentives to look the other way or reasons to say silent. Weinstein faces 80 allegations of harassment, some criminal in nature, which he has deniedenie. Some in the article include hillary clinton. Weinstein had long earned Campaign Cash for and her credentials helped burnish his images. And jeff bezos. Weinstein recommending a lawyer that makes sure everyone sticks to the right narrative. As for how weinstein dealt with his own bad press, it was with threats and enticements. Craig melvin is here with a story of a guy who had a one in a million chance of Brett Archibald. He was sailing around indonesia when he felt overboard in the middle of the ocean. No one saw him fall. He would have to find the courage to survive almost 29 hours of treading water, not knowing if he would ever be rescued. I was in a dream. I was tumbling in a washington machine with a bunch of bubbles around me. And my head popped up and i came around. Reporter Brett Archibald was on a dream surfing charge, when he found himself overboard, overnight, in the middle of the indian ocean, watching his boat sail away into the darkness. I have goosebumps reliving it. I lifted my head and realized, youre never going to catch a boat. And knew it was over. Reporter earlier that evening, brett and his friends had gotten severe food poisoning. Leaning over the rail to be sick, brett lost his foo a no one had seen him fall. Brett knew he would never survive. I knew it. There was no shadow of doubt. Reporter but death did not come quickly. As the hours passed, brett did the calculations. It would be seven hours before his friends realized he was missing. And just as long for them to come back. So, he began to talk to god. The first conversations are very angerdriven. I scream. I cant even use the profanities that i used in that ocean. And they evolved to reassessing my life. I reflected, i hadnt been a good person. I thought i was a great father and husband. But when i was faced with reality, i hadnt been. Reporter thinking of his wife and children, brett continued to swim with the current and keep his mind occupied by reciting cell phone contacts and singing elton john songs. I was singing my dont let me sing. Im in the ocean, im singing. No one can hear me. And i belted it out. Reporter over the next many hours, brett continued to battle a whole host of horrors. Cramping, dehydration, jellyfish and then, hallucination. It was a rainbow coming out of the sea. Then, it was the virgin mary. But this version of thele virgin mary, inspired brett to keep swimming. Then, a miracle. His friends sailed back. I see them. Im waving, im cheering. Im going to be drinking beer with my buddies tonight. They werent as far as the length of this room. And they sailed away. Reporter bretts friends did not see him. I didnt think theres words that can really describe that. I just lost it. I screamed at god. I screamed at the world. I screamed at life. Reporter then, brett felt beneath. I kn i knew it was a shark. I remember seeing him going, oh, my god. Magnified under the water. I thought it was the size of the red bus. Reporter the shark lost interest and so did brett. In fighting to stay alive. Exhausted and overcome, brett decided to let go. I said all my goodbyes again. Swam down. And i remember lying on my back and going, okay. Just breathe. And i took a huge breath. Reporter but his body wont let him. Choking on the water, brett swims to the surface and sees another vision. This time, a black cross. It was the top of the mast of this boat. Reporter on australian skipper had joined the search party and had a hunch of where to find brett. Are you alive or dead . Alive. Fantastic, mate. Reporter 28 1 2 hours after indian ocean, Brett Archibald was rescued. A medic onboard estimated if brett had not been rescued, he likely had only one more hour to live. Brett believes he was spared to change his life. And share this story because life is short. And if you dont live it well, you have regrets. I have 28 hours of regrets. And i have a second chance. What i do is i make a mixture of salt, pepper, its easy when someone measures it out for you. And garlic. You just mix it together. I can ask about ordering the piece of meat. You want a brisket. Make sure you dont get corned beef. Just rubbing one side. When it cooks, all of the flavors get in. Carrots, celery, all these onions. My word. And it cooks down together. What is this parchment paper for. And a couple of bay leaves. I dont know what bay leaves do. A piece of parchment paper. And im going to cover it with aluminum foil. I forgot one ingredient. What . Thoomato juice. Ill pour that for you. Threequarters with good not any old tomato juice. And you cover. And you put it in the oven for four hours. Thats pretty easy. Even hoda can do it. Why do we keep saying that . This is what happens. You end up with a brisket like this. And this is the sauce. You reduce the sauce so it cooks together. And all of the vegetables. Yummy. We have one already done. You want to cut it across the grain. Its tender. This is what you end up with right here. You want a taste . Ill just use this fork. Watch out. Savannah is dangerous with a fork. Lots of sauce. We need to take this with us. So tender. How about the tasters downstairs. Are they loving it . We need to take this with us. We dont want to go anywhere without the brisket. This is my brisket goes with potato panca pancakes. Two different kind of potatoes. Theyre usually made with mashed potatoes or grated potatoes. Theyre more crunchy. And i decided, why not mix them together. You want to add two eggs. And im going to add grated onion, of course, we dont have enough onion in the brisket. What is that . Bread crumbs. I thought it was cheese. Lots of salt and pepper. And just mush this all up. You do that with your hands . Clean hands. Cooks best tools. You end up with this. And you do some butter and oil in the pan and make pancakes. And butter because of the flavor. Oil because of the high burning temperature. You dont want to burn them. Did you try the potato pancakes . Really crispy. What is the dessert . We have some to taste. And serve them with a little sour cream. Ina, delicious. That dessert is there to be beautiful .
